Peyton Hillis + Owen Marecic = The most All-American backfield in NFL History

Owen Marecic

The Browns selected fullback/linebacker Owen Marecic with the 124th pick in the 4th round of the 2011 NFL Draft and although it took me a few hours to make sense of the selection, I am officially willing to jump aboard the Marecic train. The multi-talented player out of Stanford has all the physical tools you look for, but also possesses the heart and work ethic that will endear him to Browns fans. Cleveland fans are going to gobble this guy up and embrace him the same way they embraced Peyton Hillis this past season.

The player taken 22 picks earlier by the Browns, Jordan Cameron, is another player that has grown on me over the past month. The 6’5″ tight end from USC is an amazing athlete and it’s easy to see why the Browns would want to bring this guy. Coming in to learn behind veteran tight end Ben Watson will help him to pick up the nuances of the position and grow in his rookie year. I don’t expect much impact from Cameron in his rookie year, but this guy could prove to be a steal down the road.
